A beautiful church, a magnificent winery for the reception, terrific caterers, Brian the Bartender and of course ..... Crotchless Panties.

The day started off pretty harmless. A lunch at the famous Mystic Irish Pub but keep in mind they are only able to pour 2 beers from the tap every thirty minutes and their menu fits on a post-it note. Needless to say we headed off to a Guiness pouring establishment.

After a quick change at the hotel it was off to watch a beautiful wedding at a quaint little church. After some pictures on the staircase it was off to the Party!

The Jonathan Edwards winery was a terrific host serving delicous Chardonnay (my drink of choice for most of the evening) and a nice Merlot. The setting was perfect and the empinadas were even better.

The party was great up until dinner was served. From what I can tell by the photos it only got better!

Both fortunately and unfortunately some of the events of this past saturday night have been captured on film.. err digital media. It has been written in poker language but is still readable.

Here are a few key definitions for the layman:

blinds - forced bets that are raised as the tournament progresses.

Satellite - cheaper poker tournament that offers entries into bigger ones as prizes.

ACT 1 and 2 - Acts 1 and 2 are one table tournies of 10 people. In an Act1 the top 3 places win an entry into an ACT2. In an ACT2 top 3 places win an entry into an ACT3.

ACT3 - multiple table tournament where the top places pay out entries into the NEPC (New England Poker Classic) Main Event ($5200 entry fee) next weekend.

Okay now that we covered the basics. On to the report.
------------
I got to the woods at about 8:30 on friday morning. Played a bunch of limit (2-4.. 4-8)texas holdem but eventually got bored and walked away up about 30 bucks.

Went downstairs to the sunset ballroom at about 2ish. The atmosphere is cool down there. Tons of satellites going on. I just missed an ACT 1 so I had to wait about 30 minutes to get into one.

Only cost me 60 bucks for the ACT 1. Cruised through the ACT 1 into the ACT2 with minimal difficulty. ACT 2 Was a different story. We only had about an hour to get it in before the ACT 3 started so we were playing with 5 minute blinds. It basically turned into a crap shoot. I was running kinda low so I went all in on the button with 4,4 and got called by BB with JJ. caught a Runner Runner (last 2 cards that fell were the exact ones I needed to win) straight to keep me in it. Eventually here were 4 of us left and the blinds were killing me. With no decent hands I was just trying to survive. I became lowstack. I was ready to go home. When some guy went all in with like K, 7. Lucky for me the lady to my right picked up A,Q suited and was nice enough to call and take him out. So basically she was the reason I made it into the ACT 3. The 2 ended at about 5:27 giving me 3 minutes to smoke a cigarette and call home to let the fiancee and the dog know I would be home late tonight.

So the ACT 3 was pretty much a blur until the final table. Except one hand I picked up AA in the small blind and made a pot sized raise. Got 4 callers. Flop came something like KJ9 with 2 hearts. I made a raise and all folded except for the last guy who went all in. I was pretty worried that he might of hit a straight and/or had a 4 flush but i figured that I should take the chance and called. After I called he said he was scared and I was feeling pretty good. He turned over KQ, no hearts and I breathed a sigh of relief. Pretty much tripled up and was in good position. With some good cards and lots of folding I made it to the final table.

The final table was starting to get hectic as the blinds were becoming vital to staying alive. I went cold and didn't really play a hand for a long time. I started the final table in about second position but then started to become close to the low stack. Tried to make a couple of steals on the blinds but for the most part they went horribly wrong. There was this one time when I was on the button and the blinds were 1500, 3000. I decided to make it 6000 with 3,4 of clubs. Both blinds had lower stacks then I but not by much. Small folded immediately but big took a long time to think about it. Finally he said "I came to far" and folded. He showed something like 10,J. Big hand for me because I was able to get another free set of blinds. I made a bunch of folds that I think were good. When it was down to five I was picking up marginal hand but the guy to my right was raising me constantly. Thankfully he was on my right so I didn't have money invested when he was doing this except when in the blinds (which wasn't that good).

It was down to 5 with the top 4 paying seats into the $5000 NEPC final next week. FINALLY with my last 4500 left (blinds were at 2000/4000 with 500 ante) I picked up 9,9 on the button and went all in. Small folded and big called with like 10,5 and I almost tripled up.

Very next hand the same guy went all in because he was now in the low. Big stacks called and he was out. I turned 60 dollars into a 5000+200 dollar entry for next saturday in about 9 hours. I know this might not be a big deal for alot of you but for me this was some of the best poker I think I have played. Winning the entry alone was a big success for me.

Wish Me Luck!

Breaking News: Psycho Cats Hold Easter Bunny Hostage

Don't Worry EveryBody we got a Cow-Dog on the Job:

Is Your Friday Good?

new DMB CD - "Stand Up"

Hey. J.C. told us that we were just "The Most Gracious Landlords" they have ever had. His words not mine. Damn that mouse and his smooth talking friends!

The weird thing is that I am glad they are back. Besides their occasional pellets spattered about the house they are pretty nice to have around. Theres nothing like waking up to a hollow loaf of bread or being lulled to sleep by the sweet sound of mice having a party in your oven. Of course that begs the question: Where do they go when we cook? To be honest, I don't really want to know. But they are cute little creatures that are stuck out in the cold harsh March weather. Thats right this is the blog version of the Oh So Famous video series "Girls Gone Wild!" Hence the clever title above. So thats what you have to look forward to. A blog entry filled with Hilarity, comical drunkardness and the occasional bear breast. You got it, Bear Breasts!! Ok there really won't be any Bear Breasts, I spent hours trying to get the damn bears drunk but boy can they hold their liquor.

On to the hilarity.

On my quest to maintain a fairly interesting blog I am running into a major roadblock. It turns out that I don't really have anything to say, at least anything all that interesting. It is getting to the point where I have to make things up. Synonymously, known as lying! For instance, I never really tried to get any bears drunk. I got to the zoo and chickened out. I threw a can of beer into the cage but they growled, I got scared and ran away screaming like a schoolgirl. So I made my way over to the Atrium where there is now a peacock that has one hell of a hangover.

So do you see my point? I would like to write a long post about my political views and my thoughts on the war on terrorism. But there is enough of that out there so what do I do? I write a post about my rodent problems. Unfortunately, ever since we decided to actually clean our house the vermin are taking a much more civil approach to co-existing with us. Leaving me with not much to say.

I am sure our rodent problems will kick up soon but until then check out this link - Exploding Dog - it has these pictures this guy named Sam Brown does. I think they are cool.

The Rodents are getting Hostel

Let me start by wishing all of my fans a very happy new year. This blog has exploded into a worldwide phenomenon. I constantly have reporters and fans emailing me. They are looking for interviews and public appearances. I have declined all requests but hinted at a possible surprise appearance at a Respected Beer Swilling Establishment in the near future.

Anyway, on to more important matters. So over the past couple of months it has become obvious that we have been providing a public service to a large majority of the mice in Boston. See, Megan and I have started a non-profit organization called "Rooms For Rodents", a small startup hostel that provides a free place to local mice and those traveling abroad.

It all started with the sporatic appearance of our furry friends followed by the occasional spotting of small brown pellets around the apartment. Not a big deal, a small inconvience at worst. Then things began to get a little more regular. We knew things were getting bad when we found a bag of dog food with 2 baby mice happily living there or when we would buy a fresh loaf of bread only to have it hollowed out a couple of hours later (who needs all those extra carbs anyway, its the crust that counts.)

Things were crazy when we started getting calls from Rodent travel agents and copies of the book "Who Moved My Cheese" started appearing all over the house. Its gotten to the point where a Gertrude Sized (see my profile picture) rodent appears to have burrowed into one of our house plants where it has taken up permanent residency. How do you know this residency is permanent you ask? When we started getting mail for one "Juan Carlos the Rat" we knew something had to change.

We are now scared. Last night we holed ourselves up in the bedroom. We could hear J.C. (Juan Carlos) mulling around in the kitchen. We ordered out last night for dinner and J.C. decided to treat himself to the leftovers. We don't know what to do. The door is currently barricaded and we are waiting for help.

Wish us luck. I'll keep you posted.

Hear that Lovely sound
Pitter Patter, Little Feet
Not a Baby, MICE!

Aloha from the land of Deserted Cubicles

Captains Log:

The Year is 2004, the month is December. I arrived at the office today and much to my dismay it is like a ghost town. I could only make one logical assumption as to where everyone went. There must have been a nuclear explosion that killed almost everyone. There are a few left but they are grossly disfigured. Its a wasteland.

With no sign of human life I am forced to fend for myself. The food selection here today is anything but edible. I believe the menu for The Eve of Christmas eve was as follows:

Egg Nog Pizza

Egg Nog Burgers

Egg Nog Soup

Egg Nog Surprise

The only beverage on tap, you guessed it, Egg Nog!

Since I am pretty lonely today at work I will provide you with of a list of activities that I have planned for the day. I thought I would get a little crazy:

Count the number of paper clips in my drawer.

Throw a crumpled piece of paper off of the white board, bouncing it back to my head then bicycle kicking the paper into the Recycle bucket. (Remember Mother Earth is our friend)

Trying to take a 30 minute nap under my cube mates desk.

Attaching 50 straws together so that I can put my coffee in someone elses cube and drink it at my desk.

Tell One Funny Engineering joke today.

Eat 6 packets of ketchup. (licopene Baby!)

Write a blog entry.

Write a Haiku

So Here Goes (keep in mind I have java on the brain, final was last night):

ThingsToDo ttd = new ThingsToDo( );

ttd.blog.addEntry(this);

ttd.engJoke = new EngineeringJoke("

They were leading a priest, a drunkard and an engineer to the guillotine. They raised the blade of the guillotine, released it, it came speeding down and suddenly stopped just inches from his neck. The authorities took this as divine intervention and released the priest.
Next the drunkard came to the guillotine. He also decided to die face up hoping that he would be as fortunate as the priest. They raised the blade of the guillotine, released it, it came speeding down and suddenly stopped just inches from his neck. So they released the drunkard as well.
The engineer was next. I really enjoy the site since you can find anything from an apartment to a spouse on any given day.

This fine morning I found the following gem in the FREE section:
<start>
High class item here: A genuine Hooters Lunchbox, complete with images of two (2) partially scantilly clad "Hooters Girls" on either side. Ifthat isn't enough, the short side of this high class lunch box is emblazoned with such hilarious 'bon mots' as "Gravity is not just a good idea, it's THE LAW". Profound. Arousing. Holds your lunch. This box has it all. Some important caveats:
1>No Thermos included. I don't really have anything to say. Its monday and mondays suck. I kinda feel bad for Monday. Its not like Monday had any choice when the work week would start. Some big wig manager was just like "From Now On Until the end of time Monday will be the first day of the work week!" Someone once told me that Sunday was going to be the first day of the work week. Why shouldn't it be? It is the first day of the regular week. Well I guess someone did a Six Sigma project and decided that Monday is a more efficient day to start the work week because lots of People spend Sundays thinking about Church and Football and stuff. Parker House Rolls - oddly enough they resemble the rolls server at KFC. These were warm though. I must admit, they were delish! Rumor has it that Charles Dickens would spend months at a time at the Parker House and would partake in dozens of rolls a day.

2. Parker House Boston Scrod - Good but Fishy.

3. Boston Creme Pie - The Parker House is apparently the birthplace of the Creme Pie. Or at at least they added the noun "Boston" in front of its name and claimed it as their own. Mr Dunkin of the Donuts Family was the mastermind who ported the creme to the Donut.

Cold November Rain

Leaves Color and Fall
Trees with Skeletons Exposed
Autumn has Arrived

This is a weird time of year.
